Who I Am
I am Samantha Harper - a dedicated gardener and lover of the natural world. My primary objective in the field of horticulture is to connect people with nature in ways that empower them and inform their stewardship of the land around them, be they homeowners with an acre of yard space or urban dwellers with a nook for a few pots.
I find joy in experimenting with and applying various horticultural practices from ecological design to permaculture principles - helping to create beautiful landscapes that benefit both wildlife and our personal sensibilities.
I am passionate about plant conservation and believe that a key component to mitigating habitat loss and maintaining biodiversity is through a cultural paradigm shift that values native landscapes that support a balanced ecosystem over the current trend of manicured, exotic landscapes devoid of ecological function.
